Meet the Team
Dave Narsavage offers extensive experience as a journalist, U.S. Senate Press Secretary, public relations agency principal, independent consultant, and corporate executive. Prior to joining The Aker Partners, he served as the corporate Director of Employee Communications for Amtrak, headquartered in Washington, D.C., and now leads the firm's TeamCom21 employee communications practice.
During a five-year period of enormous changes and challenges for the national passenger railroad, he administered the various printed and electronic tools that the corporation used to communicate with its 26,000 employees.
He was also a member of Amtrak's Brand Transition Task Force - known to employees as the "LogoCops." Wearing both communications and branding hats, he was responsible for a multi-technique campaign to prepare employees for the summer 2000 unveiling of Amtrak's bold new identity and guaranteed service, including a post-debut blitz in small settings around the company. He also launched the company's first fully functional Intranet.
It's all been part of Narsavage's 30-plus years of professional communications experience. A journalism graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communications, he served in Vietnam as an Army combat correspondent and photographer before becoming a daily newspaper reporter and feature writer in New England. Then, more than 25 years ago, he came to Washington as the late Sen. John H. Chafee's first Press Secretary.
After leaving Capitol Hill, he held management positions with J. Walter Thompson and Hill and Knowlton before revisiting politics as the Director of Communications for the National Republican Senatorial Committee. More recently, he ran his own corporate communications consulting business for 10 years before accepting the post with Amtrak.
